Common questions

Sign in with Apple isn't working

If the Sign in with Apple button doesn't respond on iOS, make sure you're on the latest version of the app (App Store → Updates), force-quit and reopen the app, and check that you're signed into iCloud on the device. If it still doesn't work, email hello@lycianway.co.uk with your iOS version and device model and we'll fix it within a working day.

I forgot my password

On the login screen, tap "Forgot password" and enter the email you registered with. We'll send a reset link valid for one hour. Check your spam folder if it doesn't arrive within five minutes.

The app crashes or won't open

First try: force-quit and reopen. If that fails: uninstall and reinstall (your account and saved data are kept on our servers). Still failing? Email hello@lycianway.co.uk with your phone model, OS version and a brief description of what happens.

Offline maps / GPX downloads

You can pre-load Lycian Way maps and GPX tracks for offline use from inside the app: Profile → Map data → Download for offline. Maps stay on your device for 90 days then refresh automatically when you're back online.

GPS tracking battery use

Daily check-in uses GPS only when you tap "Check in" and only long enough to record a location point — typically 10–20 seconds. Continuous tracking (used for shared routes) drains roughly 4–6% battery per hour. Disable in Profile → Sharing if you want it off completely.

Booking, payment and refund questions

Bookings made through the platform are direct contracts with the local agency or guide. For refunds, cancellations or date changes, contact the operator first (their email is on your booking confirmation). If they don't respond within 48 hours or there's a dispute, email hello@lycianway.co.uk and we'll step in.

How do I delete my account?

Inside the app: Profile → Account → Delete account. From the web: delete-account. Account deletion is processed within 7 days and removes all personal data we hold about you (bookings, messages, profile, check-ins). Some anonymised analytics may be retained.

I want to report a safety concern on the trail

For immediate emergencies on the Lycian Way, call Turkey's emergency services on 112. For non-urgent safety reports (closed sections, water source dried up, hostile encounters, missing waymarkers), email hello@lycianway.co.uk — we share these with local guides and update the trail directory.
